Dennis Elias Galvez of El Guache
Dennis Elias Galvez a resident of El Guache, passed away on April 19 after an extended battle with Parkinson’s disease. He retired from Los Alamos National Laboratory. He loved the outdoors, telling jokes, and photography. His passion for life came from the love he had for family, friends and all people, most of all for his wife Josie, children, grandchildren and godchildren.
He was preceded in deathby: son Joseph Galvez; parents Dionicio and Teresina Galvez; sister Anita Lopez; parent in-laws Bennie and Odillia Montoya; grandmother Anita Guillen who helped raise him.
Survived by: Wife Josie Galvez.; children Dennis “Sam” Galvez, Ted (Karen) Galvez, Eric (Susie) Galvez, Chris (Sherita) Galvez, Steve (Karen) Galvez, Denise (Jake) Olivas, Anna (Steve) Squires; grandchildren; Nicholas Galvez,Isaac Galvez-Suazo, Dion Galvez, Rudi Galvez, Adam Galvez, Sophia Galvez, William Squires, Susan Squires, brothers and sisters Mellie (Robert) Kain, Priscilla (Rudy) Otero, Eileen Galvez (Tom Barker), Frank (Yolanda) Galvez, Maida (Nelson) Martinez, Flavio (Anna) Montoya, Benny Montoya.
Public Visitation will be held on Monday, May 1,2017 at Rivera Family Funeral Home at 6:30 PM to 7:00 PM.
A Rosary will be recited on Monday, May 1 at 7:00 pm at Rivera Family Funeral Home in Española.
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 3 at 11:00 am. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Española.

Eleanor L. Romero of Española
Eleanor L. Romero, 64, a resident of Española passed away on April 20, 2017. She was preceded by her mother, Genevieve Romero. Eleanor was akind hearted mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She made everything she lived for solely about her family.
She was a retired English teacher for the Española Public Schools. She was very passionate about teaching and was always willing to help her students in any way she could. Eleanor was a very strong, independent woman that enjoyed traveling, music, and spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Rica and husband Clyde, Angela and husband David, Jesus and Javier; grandchildren, Brianna, Malachi, Zachariah, Lydia, Nathaniel and numerous relatives and friends who she loved and cared for dearly.
A funeral service will take place on Friday, April 28, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial to follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery.

Lillian C. Duran, 80, a resident of El Rancho, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, April 24, 2017. She was preceded in death by her parents, Aaron and Veronica Roybal; her ex-husband, Fermin Duran; and numerous siblings,nieces and nephews. Lillian’s passion was her grandchildren. She loved serving anyone who came to her house her delicious food. She loved playing her accordion and piano. Lillian had such a giving heart, in the words of her three loving sons. Lillian will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her three sons, Peter Duran (Tamare), Joel Duran (Audrey), and Amos Duran; 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; 13 loving siblings and many nieces and nephews family and friends. Public visitation will begin on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. at Victory Faith Church in Española, with a devotional service to follow at 7:00 p.m. Final visitation will be held on Friday, April 28, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. at Victory Faith Church with a burial to follow at the El Rancho Assembly of God Cemetery. Serving the family as pallbearers, Matthew Roybal, Johnathan Romero, James Romero, Anthony Garcia, Bobby Duran, and Ted Salazar, honorary pallbearers, Isaiah Duran, Abe Herrera, Jacob Duran, Joshua Duran, Nathan Duran and Aaron Roybal. In Lieu of flowers the family request that any donations be made to help struggling students pay their tuition at Victory Christian Academy in Española, NM. The family of Lillian C.
