Victor Archuleta of La Mesilla
Victor Archuleta, a resident of La Mesilla formally of Cebolla, passed away on Saturday, April 15, 2017. Victor was preceded in death by his father, Danny Archuleta; paternal grandparents, Esther and Damian Archuleta, maternal grandparents, Ismael and Sadie Maes; aunt, Lydia Garcia, uncles, Ismael (Soney) Maes, Gilbert Maes, Joseph Alonso Maes. Victor was liked by everyone that met him, he loved his friends and family deeply. He was an avid wood carver and loved the outdoors. He is survived by his daughter, Kaylie Jean Archuleta; mother of his daughter, Shandra Clow; mother, Nelda Jean Archuleta; brother, Angelo Archuleta and wife, Melanie; niece and nephew, Leah and Isaac Archuleta of Mount Vernon Washington; aunts, Sarah Benevides and her late husband, Ruben of Albuquerque, Margie Ryzenski and her late husband Doug of Las Vegas, NV, Loretta Maes of Las Vegas, NM, Nancy Atencio and husband Alfonso of Cuba, Petra Maes of Santa Fe, Jenny Pino and husband Manuel of Salt Lake City, Mary Heckle and husband Mark, and Vangie Jiron and Husband of Layton UT, and many cousins, family and friends. A rosary will be recited on Tuesday, April 25, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. at Santo Nino Catholic Church in Cebolla, with a Memorial mass to follow at 11:00 a.m., with Father Charlie Martinez officiating the services. Burial will be held at Cebolla Cemetery. Serving the family as honorary pallbearers, Jason Hackle of New York, Jay Jiron of Layton UT., Jose Maes of Las Cruces, Joshua Maes of Santa Fe, Jesus Maes of Cebolla, Joseph Lopez of La Mesilla, Ronnie Martinez of Canjilon, and Manuel Pino of Salt Lake City Utah. Carol Ann Phillips of El Rito
Carol Ann Phillips, 63, a resident of El Rito, passed away on Sunday, April 16, 2017, surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Olen and Alma Thompson; her former husband, Bobby Painter; daughter, Andrea Trujillo; grandchildren, Alan Fuller, Maria and Esai Trujillo; brothers, Kenneth and Donald Thompson. Carol was born August 3, 1953, in Libby MT. to Olen and Alma Thompson. Carol was the youngest of 6 children. Carol and her husband Charles settled in El Rito ten years ago. She was an avid book reader and visited the library every week. She also loved doing crafts including crochet. Carol is survived by her husband, Charles; daughter, Michelle Fuller (Brian); son-in-law, Dominic Trujillo; step-son, Charles Phillips Jr.; sisters, Sharon Adcock, Lorna Vickroy, and Betty Thompson; and 6 grandchildren.
