James M. Fernandez of Dixon

James M. Fernandez, 44, a resident of Dixon, passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2017. He was preceded in death by his mother JoAnn Martinez; maternal grandfather, Robert Gurule; aunt, Pauline, uncle, David Gurule all of Dixon; paternal grandparents, Aurora and Felix Fernandez Sr.; uncle, Pablo and Leo Fernandez Sr.; all of Rio Lucio.

James was a very kind hearted guy whom was a loyal Pittsburg Steelers Fan.

James is survived by his daughter, Kristen Martinez (Samuel); grandson, Elijah of Santa Fe; father and stepmother, Juan and Aurelia Fernandez of Espanola; maternal grandmother, Ruth Gurule of Dixon; sister, Janice Fernandez (Herman) of Dixon; brother, Matthew Martinez of Dixon; stepsister, Sharon Trujillo (Craig) of Espanola; stepbrother; Gary Martinez (Debrah) of Hernandez; nieces and nephews, David Fernandez (Hannah) of Llano San Juan, Elijah Fernandez (Jaylyn) of Espanola; Daija Fernandez; Conrad Sandoval of Dixon; Angelina; Domonique; Diego; Michael Martinez of Penasco; Briana; Alyssa and Ethan Trujillo of Espanola; great nephews and niece, Eric; Derrick; Elias and Elianna; many aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives and friends to many to mention.

Services are pending at this time and will be announced once they become available. Serving the family as pallbearers David and Elijah Fernandez, Conrad Sandoval, Herman Peña, Ethan Trujillo, Conrad Espinoza and Patrick Fernandez; honorary pallbearers will be Gary Martinez, Garland Thompson and Daija Fernandez.

John F. Salazar  of Espanola

John F. Salazar, 52, a resident of Espanola originally of Youngsville, passed away on Saturday, April 1, 2017.

John was preceded in death by his father, Eddie Salazar Sr.; brother, Robert “Bobby” Salazar, sister, Diana Salazar; Godson, Dylan Salazar; paternal grandfather, Liberato Salazar, maternal grandparents, Sabiniano Lovato and Delfinia Martinez. John was known to many as having a kind heart, he loved to laugh, dance and live life on the Edge. He was a hard worker and was a jack of all trades. He loved to build and was artistic. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. John is survived by his wife, Evelyn Salazar; daughters, Melanie Moya and Edin Chavarria, Desiree and Joylynn Moya; grandchildren, Joshua Trujillo, Deanica Moya, Marvin and Edin Chavarria, Shania Martinez, Mya Martinez, Bobbielynn Martinez and Haylee Lujan; mother, Connie Salazar; brother, Eddie Salazar Jr. and wife Grace, sisters, Lenore Salazar and Denise Salazar-Alexander and husband Ruben; paternal grandmother, Beatrice Salazar; God children, Robert Salazar, Jasmine Moya, and Kayla Padilla; sister-in-law, Elaine Moya and many nieces, nephews relatives and friends.

Public visitation will begin on Friday, April 7, 2017 at 6:00 the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the San Pedro Catholic Church in Youngsville, with a burial to follow at the Youngsville Catholic Cemetery.

Serving the family as pallbearers, Ivan Moya, Jesse Moya, Chris Maes, Michael Salazar, Joshua Trujillo, Ruben Alexander, and Bradley Baldonado, honorary pallbearers, Robert Salazar, Vernon Ortega, Lorenzo Martinez and Fernando Jacquez.
