Northern’s College of Business To Offer New Accelerated Degree

Staff Report

The Dean of Northern’s College of Business Administration, Dr. Lori Baca, announced in late December that a new accelerated associate degree program in Business Administration will be offered at the college starting with the Spring 2016 semester on Jan. 19.

“This program is structured to be accessible to people who might be working full time and want to advance in their careers by pursuing an advanced degree,” said Dr. Baca.

A highlight of the program is that classes are consolidated to one day per week, running from 8 A.M. until 4 P.M. on Fridays. The accelerated program will take just sixteen months to complete, at the end of which graduates will receive an Associate of Arts (A.A.) in Business Administration.

An associate degree in Business Administration can make job candidates more competitive and increase earning potential for a variety of positions such as project managers, executive assistants, human resources managers, office managers, organizational managers or accounting positions.

The mission of the accelerated program is to help enrolled students advance in their careers and increase their earnings while managing to continue working and meeting other demands in their lives.
