Northern Eagles Fall Short Against Adam State
The Northern New Mexico College Eagles were battle tested Wednesday night as they hosted NCAA II Adams State University. Adams State lead early and went into half time with a 39-54 lead over the Eagles, led by Senior Shakir Smith who had 19 points at the half for the Grizzlies. The Eagles started the second half with a lot of energy and outscored Adams State in the second half 37-41, and cut the lead to only 5 with 1:44 left in the game. However, it was not enough to give them the win as NNMC fell short at home 91-80. Sophomore guard, Walid Ahmed led the Eagles in scoring with 22 points, and senior big man Patrick Bendegue had a solid game as he finished with 15 points and 8 rebounds. The Eagles are back in action Friday (11-6-15) as they play in their first road game of the season against NCAA II University of Colorado at Colorado Springs.
