New Tourism App Launched for Hwy 84 Rio Chama Corridor
ABIQUIU, N.M., SEPT. 30, 2015 – A new app that features visitor information for destinations along 80 miles of New Mexico Highway 84 has launched and is available for download for iPhone, iPad and Android users.
The stretch of highway in Rio Arriba County from Espanola, N.M. to Chama, N.M. is a culturally rich Northern New Mexico treasure. The Highway 84 Rio Chama Corridor App offers visitors a single source for information about all there is to do and explore in the area including art galleries, shopping, restaurants, tours, hiking, lodging, camping, rafting, maps, tours, telephone numbers, websites—from the town of Espanola, through O’Keeffe Country and the village of Abiquiu then north to the town of Chama.
The app was created through a matching grant from the New Mexico Department of Tourism and a partnership between Ghost Ranch Education & Retreat Center, The Georgia O’Keeffe Museum, Rio Arriba County Economic Development Office and The Cumbres & Toltic Scenic Railroad.
The app is free to users. Search Highway 84 Rio Chama Corridor on Google Play and the Apple App Store. Here is the link on Google Play:
The app includes a mapping feature that allows users to locate destinations from points on the map. Users may telephone, email or visit the website of the destinations. There’s also a custom post-card that can be sent to contacts in the classic Wish You Were Here expressions of people on holiday.
Also included in the app because of their proximity to Highway 84 is Ojo Caliente Mineral Springs & Spa and the Puye Cliff Dwellings, a National Historic Landmark and home to the ancestors of today’s Santa Clara Pueblo people and other adjacent destinations and services to help travelers.
Ghost Ranch is a national education and retreat center located in Abiquiu, New Mexico. Its synergy of beauty, scientific value, cultural and historical traditions and its spirituality make it like no other place in the world.
