The Santa Fe County Geographic Information Systems (G.I.S.) division created an online interactive trails map that is now available to the public. The map includes hundreds of miles of trails throughout Santa Fe County, including County trails and Santa Fe National Forest, City of Santa Fe, and private land trails. (Check out the Map)
The map contains trail descriptions, elevation profiles, images, parking locations, and contact info. The map allows users to search for trails based on user type (hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, backpacking) and include paved, soft surface single track, double track, trails and roads.
“Santa Fe County is rapidly becoming known for the high quality outdoors experiences that are available, and the trails infrastructure is consistently drawing positive reviews,’ said David Griscom, Economic Development Manager. He continued, “The new map is a valuable contribution to the emerging outdoor economy, and is the next step in highlighting Santa Fe as an outdoor recreation destination.”
An app is being developed for Android and iOS mobile platforms.
