Nambe Pueblo Breaks Ground On New Casino

NAMBE TRAVEL CENTER – On Friday morning Nambe Pueblo, the Nambe Development Corporation and other pueblo entities gathered on the south end of the Nambe Travel Center property to break ground for a new casino.

Until now Nambe Pueblo has been one of the tribes in New Mexico that has chosen not to enter into the gaming industry. According to Shannon McKenna, President of the Gaming Council for Nambe, the decision to go forward with this new casino was fist discussed in 2005 but really took off a few years ago.

McKenna says the Pueblo’s “Nambe Falls Casino” will be a 180 seat slots style casino with no gaming tables. This will be considerable smaller than the neighboring Buffalo Thunder casino and destination resort.
