Moving Arts Española held a community celebration Friday to recognize Artistic Director & Co-Founder Roger Montoya’s nomination as a CNN Hero. Community members and city, county and state elected officials shared their stories about Moving Arts and Montoya.

Each week, a CNN Hero is profiled on the global networks of CNN and on CNN.com. The 2019 Top 10 CNN Heroes will be announced this fall.

Moving Arts seeks community support to get Montoya into the Top 10.  In making its decision, CNN looks at a multiple of factors, including the number of unique visits and views to Montoya’s CNN Hero page, Extra Video: A Mosaic of Dance, Video Extra: Pueblo Ballerina and the donations received by MAE.  Each comment on, “Like” and “Share” of the CNN videos on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter will help Moving Arts become a finalist. CNN is also counting donations on Moving Arts Española’s Crowdrise page.
