McCurdy Student Receives National Science & Math Honor:
Attending Congress of Future Science and Technology Leaders Program In Boston This Summer
ESPAÑOLA — Katelynn Marie Tafoya-Montoya, a sophomore at McCurdy Charter School was selected as a Delegate to travel to Boston where she will represent her school and the State of New Mexico for a once in a lifetime opportunity, The Congress of Future Science and Technology Leaders Program.
Katelynn was recognized because of her outstanding academic status and her leadership potential in the community. The Congress of Future Science and Technology Leaders is a highly selective national program that honors academically superior high school students that are aiming towards careers in science, technology, engineering or math (STEM).
Katelynn is currently a sophomore at McCurdy Charter School and her interests for the future consists of getting a degree in possibly computer science or forensic pathology. Katelynn actively participates in Varsity Girls’ Basketball, Track and Field, as a member of the National Honor Society, and is also involved in the Big Buddy Program.
The honorary Future Science and Technology Leaders Program that Katelynn will be attending will be held on June 28-30th in Boston, Massachusetts.
