May is “Get Caught Reading Month.” Española Public Library is looking for readers to fill our Wanted Poster, let us catch you reading in the library and we will take a photo of you and we will add your photo to our Wanted: Readers collection, at the end of the month you will win a prize if your photo is chosen.
May 1 – Lei Day 3 – 4:40 p.m.
Lei Day is a statewide celebration in all of Hawaii. The celebration begins in the morning of May first every year and continues throughout the entire day and even continues onto the next day. Lei day was established as a holiday in the year of 1929 and continues to this day
May 1 – FREE “Basic Computer Skills Class” 10 a.m. – noon/5 p.m. – 7 p.m.
You will learn the following: Basic parts of a Computer, Buttons & Ports on a Computer, Understanding the Operating System, Understanding Applications.
May 2 – Story Hour 10 a.m. – 11 a.m.
Join Tammy for story hour, they will be reading “Mole and the Baby Bird” and after story hour stay and make a roly poly bird craft.
May 7 – Mother’s Day Craft 3 – 4 p.m.
Join Valerie to create a special Mother’s Day necklace, bracelet or key chain, all supplies provided all you need to bring is your imagination.
May 7 – Family Banner Craft Night 5 – 6 p.m.
Create your own Family Banner with your family name, supplies provided this craft is open to all children and adults. Celebrate National Family Week May 5 – 11.
May 9 – Story Hour 10 a.m. – 11 a.m.
This week’s story will be “Clifford’s Happy Mother’s Day” and stay to make a Mother’s Day Wreath.
May 9 – Family Paint Night 5 – 6:30 p.m.
Celebrating Family Week we will once again have a Family Craft Night and we will be creating some abstract art for your home, children and adults, all welcome. Supplies provided.
May 10 – Handmade Mother’s Day Card Craft 3 – 4:30 p.m.
Come in and join us as we make Mother’s Day Cards, all supplies provided all you need is your imagination!
May 13 – Senior Movie Day “Only the Brave” 12:30 – 2:30 p.m.

Story for this day is “Home in the Rain” stay after story hour and Tammy will show you how to make a Rain and Cloud Suncatcher.
May 17 – Family Movie Night “The Mule” 5 – 7 p.m.
Broke, alone and facing foreclosure on his business, 90-year-old horticulturist Earl Stone takes a job as a drug courier for a Mexican cartel. Coffee with a Cop is a nation program with no agenda or speeches. The event is an opportunity to ask question, voice concerns and get to know the officers in your community.

Join Tammy for story hour as she reads “Thackeray Turtle” after story hour stay and make a CD Turtle craft.
May 23 – Pipe Cleaner Ninja’s 3 – 4 p.m.
Join Valerie as you create your very own Pipe Cleaner Ninja, all supplies provided craft open to all stop by and create some fun!
May 24 – Water Bottle Planters 3 – 4 p.m.
Join Michael as you create a Water Bottle Planter, bottles and seeds will be provided. Sign up at the circulation desk or call Michael at 747-6090.
May 30 – Story Hour 10 a.m. – 11 a.m.
Join Tammy as she reads “Angela’s Airplane” and stay to make a Clothespin Airplane.
