Habitat for Humanity Super Bowl Kickoff
Espanola Valley and Los Alamos supporters of the affordable housing non-profit Habitat For Humanity plan to kickoff the “2017 Build” at a Super Bowl Fundraising Party on Sunday Feb 5 at the Blue Heron Taproom in Espanola. The “Kickoff” event is scheduled for 4 PM.
People are invited to attend and boo or cheer, celebrate or blame the ref. If your team did not make it to the Big Game, drown your sorrow and join Habitat for Humanity EVLA for an evening of entertainment, pizza and burgers, creative football-themed food from the kitchen, and specialty beers on tap. Blue Heron’s own hard cider will be poured as well as locally produced sparkling cider from Santa Fe Cider Works. Blue Heron’s home-made root beer, lemonade and ginger ale are also available at this family fun event. Blue Heron boasts a foosball table for the kids. Half-time giveaways are planned.
While the event is a fun fundraiser, the need for decent affordable housing in our community is very real. Even with some donated materials and donated labor, Habitat for Humanity EVLA spends $75,000-$80,000 on each affordable house built here in the valley. Blue Heron Brewery will donate a portion of the proceeds from all food and drink ordered during the Super Bowl to Habitat for Humanity EVLA. Help us help others by enjoying the Super Bowl at Blue Heron in Espanola.
