George H.W. Bush Has Died
George Herbert Walker Bush died yesterday at age 94. His death was announced late today in a statement released by family spokesman Jim McGrath.
‘Jeb, Neil, Marvin, Doro and I are saddened to announce that after 94 remarkable years, our dear Dad has died,’ said his son former President George W. Bush. ‘George H.W. Bush was a man of the highest character and the best dad a son or daughter could ask for. The entire Bush family is deeply grateful for 41’s life and love, for the compassion of those who have cared and prayed for Dad, and for the condolences of our friends and fellow citizens.’
Bush served as the 41st president (1989-1993) of the United States. Bush’s wife of 73 years Barbara Bush died in April.
Republican Party of New Mexico Chairman Ryan Cangiolosi made the following statement this evening following the death of President Bush:
‘George Bush represented the best of America. He was a hero, a public servant, a statesman, and above all, a good and decent man who earned the respect and admiration of Americans across the political spectrum. President Bush carried himself with integrity and his strong character and warm heart always shone through. His values were America’s values. He held a deep belief that the United States should serve as a beacon for freedom and through his actions set an example for Americans to treat one another with love and compassion. Our country lost one of its finest men, but we rest easy knowing he is now home with his wife Barbara, the love of his life. Our hearts and prayers are with the Bush family.’
