The Española Farmers Market will be having an all-day free chile roasting from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on Labor Day September 2nd with an heirloom chile cook-off @ 1:30 pm. Customers can have any bushel of chile purchased at the Market roasted free throughout that day. Students from the summer Cooking Up Traditions program will be assisting with the Chile Fest tasting and display of heirloom chile by various growers.
Enjoy the traditional music of Don Bernardo y Los Ultimos midday during every Monday Market through October 28th. The Market is located at 1105 North Railroad Avenue. Come meet old friends, visit with farmers, discover what is growing weekly in the fields, and shop for delicious fruits and vegetables. Visitors can find fresh corn, peaches, apricots, onions, beans, tomatoes, potatoes of every variety, herbs, chile, horno-roasted chicos, fresh chard, salad greens, local honey, fresh tamales, grass-fed lamb, and other treats. We accept WIC, Senior FMNP, EBT (SNAP) and DUFB as well as cash money.
Children will be able to select a book from our free Kids’ Book Exchange. The 2018 Market postcard is available and you will also be able to find free bilingual recipe cards at the Market stalls, giving you ideas for how to prepare some of the tasty produce. You can stroll in our Wildflower Garden or wander behind the plaza to see what is growing in the Community Fields. Join your neighbors and friends at the Española Farmers Market.
