ESPAÑOLA, N.M. — Each week the Valley Daily Post features a few pets that are ready for adoption at the Española Valley Humane Society. Take a look at this week’s highlighted pets and then drop by the shelter to see the whole selection.
Ocho is looking forward to a new year! This precious kitten was brought to the shelter when he was two months old with severe injuries. He had broken ribs and trauma to his thorax that resulted in fluid in his lungs; then he caught a nasty respiratory virus and didn’t eat for a few days; then an abscess formed secondary to the original injury. That’s when he got his name, because Ocho had been through 8 of his 9 lives. This darling boy is ready for a new decade, and he has the sunniest outlook for someone who has been through so much. Ocho is located at our offsite adoption facility near Santa Fe, in our Cat Corral at Sunrise Springs Spa Resort. We are so close to 100 adoptions from the Cat Corral since we opened in June, we are offering a purrfect gift to the 100th adopter: Sunrise is offering 2 passes to the Repose Pools, and Española Humane is offering free vaccine boosters and an Española Humane sweatshirt! Be our 100th adopter – and we secretly hope it’s Ocho! The Cat Corral at Sunrise is open every day from 1-4pm for public adoptions.
Lola is a gorgeous husky-shepherd mix, and at 10 weeks she’s already learning manners, basic commands, and starting the housetraining process at our new offsite adoption facility near Santa Fe; the Puppy Patch at Sunrise Springs Spa Resort is now open seven days per week from 1-4pm for public adoptions! Lola is always ready for an adventure and she has nothin’ but sugar-sweet love in her heart. Help Lola make 2020 totally pawsome!
