Española Humane Pets Of The Week

ESPAÑOLA, N.M. — Each week the Valley Daily Post features a few pets that are ready for adoption at the Española Humane. Take a look at this week’s highlighted pets and then drop by the shelter to see the whole selection.

Bernice suffered the “Quarantine 15” and arrived incredibly overweight with her two pudgeball puppies. (We get it, Bernice! Who can resist Taco Tuesday?!) We placed her in an active foster home to get that body movin’ – and she’s become a whole new dog! Her foster wrote to us about her 180 life change: “Bernice turned around in her character from a dog who gave up on life to one who wants activity and belly rubs. She is a brand new soul, who wants to run around more and more with each pound lost!” They report that Bernice is very loyal, she learns fast and will stay by your side – and she’s a “real sucker for cuddles” too. Maggie is a stunning 3mo calico kitten looking for a lap to smush into muffins! We have kittens like Maggie, plus house cats and several feral barn kitties looking for a second chance at a new beginning!
