ESPAÑOLA, N.M. — Each week the Valley Daily Post features a few pets that are ready for adoption at the Española Humane. Take a look at this week’s highlighted pets and then drop by the shelter to see the whole selection.
Our shelter is a home for miracles – and heroes. Meet Shy-Ann, our hero! When a little homeless dog came to our shelter in need of an emergency blood transfusion to save his life, Shy-Ann slipped into her superhero cape and became our story’s heroine as his blood donor! Our miracle survivor will be treated for anaplasmosis over the next few weeks, but she-ro Shy-Ann is now available for adoption; this shepherd mix is two years old and a perfect 46lbs, spayed and UTD on vaccines, microchipped and heartworm negative. Shy-Ann is the first one up to the kennel gate to sit pretty for a treat, and she’s ready to fly home with you to be your own personal superhero.
Did you know black cats and black dogs are more often overlooked at shelters? We don’t understand why, especially when black cats have their own legion of followers! Right now, we have quite the black cat crew for you: eight good luck charm black kitties await their fairy tail furever, including two month old Charlie, who is sweet as blackberry pie. Please submit an application online from our website and our team will be in touch to schedule an appointment. All feline furbabies go home spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped!
