Española Humane Pets Of The Week

ESPAÑOLA, N.M. — Each week the Valley Daily Post features a few pets that are ready for adoption at the Española Valley Humane Society. Take a look at this week’s highlighted pets and then drop by the shelter to see the whole selection.

Is there anything cuter than a kitten? Scotland is part of the Sunrise Springs cohort of kittens at our charming Cat Corral! He is a bundle of cute-as-a-button, muffin-making, purrfectly playful love. Visit our adoptable kittens every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at the Cat Corral from 1-4pm for public adoption hours and give these felines a furever! Take a dip in the Repose pools, book a spa treatment, treat yourself to lunch at at the Blue Heron…and adopt! We also have adoptable kitties at the shelter, at Petsense in Española, and in Santa Fe at our Barkin Boutique resale shop.

Look at what a little love can do! Dixie found her way to us so skinny that her ribs and backbone bulged through her skin, and she was scared of being left alone. After just five days in foster over the holiday weekend, she has made an incredible transformation: Dixie is plumped up, loved up, and ready to find her furever. This Dachshund mix is an absolute sweetheart and would happily snuggle and play every minute of every day, but she’s still nervous about going outside or in a crate – she will need a patient, nurturing family who understands she has had some trauma, and she will return the love exponentially. Her adoption fee is waived, and she will go home spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and with six months of free heartworm prevention. We are open seven days per week from 10:30am-4pm for adoptions and we offer FREE spay and neuter surgeries for public pets: call our clinic at 505 753-0228 to schedule an appointment!
