Elderly Woman Beaten, Raped At Her Home in El Llano, Hospitalized
El Llano – A 76 year-old elderly woman was severely beaten and raped on May 4, at her home on Espinoza Lane in the El Llano section of Espanola, according to the Rio Arriba County Sheriff’s Department. The victim has been hospitalized at an undisclosed location.
Sheriff James Lujan, said in a brief interview “we’ve had a criminal sexual penetration and, battery–aggravated battery. On May 4, 2016…Deputies Lorenzo Aguilar and Sgt. Billy Merrifield were dispatched to a residence on Espinoza Lane where a 76 year old female had been battered and sexually assaulted.”
The Sheriff described the suspect as, “…a light-skinned, thin Hispanic male, about six feet tall wearing a black and white striped shirt and, we think, wearing dark blue jeans.”
The Sheriff stated that “We have a suspect, yes, but we can’t give you a name because he hasn’t been charged,” he said.
