Early Voting for the 2018 General Election Ends Saturday, Nov. 3
Saturday Early Voting Hours Provided by all New Mexico County Clerks
SANTA FE – Secretary of State Maggie Toulouse Oliver reminds all eligible New Mexico voters that Saturday, November 3, 2018 is the final day to participate in early voting for the 2018 general election. A list of early voting locations by county is available at NMvote.org.
“Better voter participation leads to better representation in government and I’m proud to see so many of my fellow New Mexicans making their voices heard by voting early in this election,” said Secretary Toulouse Oliver. “I encourage every eligible voter to get out there and vote early.”
As of Wednesday, October 31, 2018, 322,356 New Mexicans had voted early – either by absentee ballot or in-person voting at early vote locations.
Online absentee ballot requests made through the NMvote.org for the 2018 general election will be accepted until 11:59PM on Thursday, November 1, 2018. Voters can request an absentee ballot for the 2018 general election by submitting an application directly to their county clerk through Friday, November 2, 2018. Requests must be made by this deadline in order for the requested absentee ballot to be mailed by the appropriate county clerk in time for the voter to receive, complete, and return it by 7:00PM on Election Day.
Voters who have completed their absentee ballot can return it through the end of early voting on Saturday, November 3, 2018 only to the appropriate county clerk’s office and cannot drop it off at an early voting polling site. After early voting ends, voters may return their completed absentee ballot to the appropriate county clerk’s office or to any Election Day polling location before polls close at 7:00PM on Tuesday, November 6, 2018.
Because of the nature of postal delivery, Sec. Toulouse Oliver encourages any voter who is considering making an absentee ballot request on Friday, November 2, 2018 to consider voting in-person during early voting hours on Friday, November 2 or Saturday, November 3, 2018, or to vote in-person on Election Day, Tuesday, November 6, 2018.
Election Day is Tuesday, November 6, 2018 and polls will be open from 7:00AM to 7:00PM.
