Eagles Shooting & Turnovers Result In Loss To Arizona Christian U.
Phoenix – The Eagles faced the #4 NAIA Division 1 team in the country, Arizona Christian University Wednesday, Nov. 10. The first half was a low scoring defensive game, as both teams had a difficult time getting the ball in the basket. The Eagles trailed by 7 at the half with the score being 25-32.
The second half was a whole new ballgame. ACU game out aggressive and forced the Eagles to turn the ball over causing 24 total turnovers in the game. The Eagles also had a difficult time knocking down baskets from the three, only shooting 1-16 for the game, 6.3 percent, a season low. The difficult shooting also came from the FT line as well, as NNMC shot a horrific 6-17, 35 percent.
Freshman Marcus Ellis led the way for the Eagles with 14 points shooting 51 percent from the field. The Eagles continue play Nov. 16, as they travel to Silver City to take on NCAA II Western New Mexico University.
