Congressman Lujan Meet & Greet At Big Dawgs
Congressman Ben Ray Lujan made a stop at Big Dawgs Cafe in Espanola before meetings up north to discus the EPA spill in the Animas River.
With over 40 community members in attendance, Lujan spoke about recent meltdowns over appropriations in Congress and the damaging effects it will have on the local economy. Lujan focused heavily on the Animas River and noted his, “fear for the wells and those that are raising crops.” Lujan went on to explain that New Mexico’s federal delegation members are working with USDA, EPA, and FEMA and he promised to make sure that the, “EPA does take full responsibility and that the efforts are real and just not on paper.”
Prior to spending time with members of the 4-H club and individual community members, Lujan addressed the need to restore the Voting Rights Act and the importance of ensuring every American has the right to vote.
