Community Fair, Garage Sale, Blood Drive and Food Drive at the Abiquiu Volunteer Fire Department Saturday
Join the Abiquiu Volunteer Fire Department 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Sept. 15 for a community fair, garage sale, blood drive and food drive.
Activities include a BBQ to benefit the fire department, a food drive, a bouncy house for the kids and the Blood Mobile for those who’d like to give blood.
If you are interested in participating, a $20 donation to the AVFD will allow you to set up a table or booth to sell that stuff you’ve been meaning to get rid of. You can also donate that stuff to the fire department and we’ll sell it. Get there by nine if you wish to set up or donate. If you are interested in a table or in donating, please email Goldie at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Neighbor to Neighbor Food Drive is the largest single-day food drive in Northern New Mexico.
All donations go directly to The Food Depot to help support their direct service programs, as well as distribute food to 145+ non-profit partner agencies including the Abiquiu Mobile Food Pantry.
Hunger is constant in the lives of many New Mexicans, including some of our neighbors. In 2017, The Food Depot delivered as much as 5,300 pounds of food each month to the Abiquiu Mobile Food Pantry.
Most Needed Items – Peanut butter, canned tuna, salmon & meats, milk, dried or evaporated, canned fruits & vegetables,
soups canned & dried, nuts & seeds, beans canned & dried, pantry staples: flour, cornmeal, spices, infant formula & baby food
Cash and check donations made payable to The Food Depot also welcome. $1 = 5 pounds of food.
