Blue Heron Brewery turns 2 years old
This weekend marks two years since the Blue Heron, Española original and only microbrewery opened its doors in the old Rio Grande Cafe on the west side of town, South of the Plaza. Favorite brews pizza and specialty dishes are on the menu for this two-year anniversary celebration, being celebrated this weekend.The Blue Heron has also recently opened an outdoor dining patio on the Southside of the old Rio Grande Cafe building.
The Blue Heron, which opened its original location and brewery in Embudo in 2010, opened its Española location in 2014 with a special ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by Governor Susana Martinez and several other dignitaries to commemorate the establishment of a microbrewery tap room in Española. The site has quickly become a favorite for many locals who enjoy the food and locally brewed beers. Local brews produced by the Blue Herron include Peñasco Porter, La Llorona Ale, Ladybug IPA and many others.
The Blue Heron will be open all weekend, during this three-day Memorial Day weekend. Stop by and see what’s happening and wish them congratulations on two successful years.
