Bank Robbed Wednesday Afternoon

The New Mexico Bank & Trust location in Ranchitos on the corner of Carr Lane and Riverside Drive was robbed Wednesday, Dec. 2.   Espanola City Police took control of the crime site and by midafternoon Detective Eric Gallant with the Espanola Police Department confirmed that an FBI team was on site to oversee the investigation.

Prior to Wednesday’s robbery, there have been 22 bank robberies or attempted robberies in New Mexico this year, according to the FBI website. 17 incidents occurred in Albuquerque, and one each occurred in Aztec, Grants, Los Lunas, Rio Rancho and Santa Fe.
