Arrests Made in Española Bank Robbery

The FBI has made arrests in relation to the bank robbery at the New Mexico Bank & Trust bank in Ranchitos. As reported in the Valley Daily Post HERE Dec. 2, the bank, located at Carr Lane and Riverside Drive was robbed Wednesday, Dec. 2 by two individuals. Española City Police were first to respond to the crime scene and the FBI quickly took over the investigation, as required by Federal law in the case of bank robberies. 

Hours after the robbery, law enforcement arrested Kendra Brophy, 29, of White Rock, and charged her with bank robbery. The search for the second suspect continued until Sunday, Dec 6 when the FBI and Rio Arriba County Sheriff’s Office arrested Fidel Harrison Naranjo, 26, of White Rock in Española.

Naranjo was formally charged with bank robbery in U.S. District Court in Albuquerque on Monday.
