AG & Police Raids Homes of County Commissioner & Others Friday Morning
Early Friday morning a few valley neighborhoods were woken up by a surprise visit from the investigators from the Attorney General’s office and State Police. Multiple sources, which asked to remain confidential, confirm that these law enforcement agencies raided the homes of County Commissioner Barney Trujillo and local businessman Joseph Torres.
Investigators from the AG’s office had previously visited the Espanola Public School offices on Jan. 13 in a search for unspecified documents. One anonymous source confirmed that Trujillo and Torres both have current contracts for services with the school district.
As previously reported in the Valley Daily Post HERE, the state Public Education Department took over control of financial operations Nov. 17 last year and has yet to return control to the local district.
