Adult Literacy Program Honored For Work In The Valley

ESPAÑOLA  –  With three successful years providing volunteer adult literacy programs for Rio Arriba County, the Rio Arriba Adult Literacy Program’s students and tutors were honored at Tuesday’s City Council meeting.  Along with recognizing the program, awards were given to the Literacy Student of the Year, Jose Martinez, and the Tutor of the Year, Ernest Cata.

Currently, the Rio Arriba Adult Literacy Program serves 19 students and recently launched an ESL program. Services are free and anyone interested in joining the program or volunteering should visit their office in the Española  Public Library Monday, Wednesday or Friday or call 747-6162.
