The Toppers put the first six points on the board in the first quarter followed by a touchdown by the Sundevils. The second quarter turned into a challenge for Espanola as they suffered several turnovers and an interception that allowed Los Alamos to run the score up to 22-6 by the half. During the second quarter a hail storm also turned the artificial turn on the field white, followed by a steady cold rain and a lightning storm that forced a weather delay.

In the third quarter Espanola controlled the ball but was unable to convert possession time into points. They did better in the fourth quarter but Los Alamos hit back score for score.

The Espanola Sundevils are now 7-1 for the season and 1-1 in districts competitions.
