Presbyterian Española Hospital Staff Visit Chimayo Elementary For Annual Day Of Service

CHIMAYO - On Oct. 4, Presbyterian Espanola Hospital staff members visited Chimayo Elementary School to share fun activities related to the benefits of healthy eating, avoiding smoking and exercising as part of Presbyterian’s sixth annual “Day of Service”.

More than 450 Presbyterian Healthcare Services' staff and leaders statewide spent the day exercising with and teaching children about healthy eating, volunteered at local food pantries, and more during the activities last week. In addition to volunteering at Chimayo, staff from the Presbyterian Medical Group clinic in Santa Fe volunteered at the Food Depot pantry on Oct 2.

Presbyterian staff explain that, as part of Presbyterian's commitment to improving the health of New Mexicans, the annual Day of Service tradition brings Presbyterian leaders to 24 schools across the state -- serving more than 10,000 children in Central New Mexico alone -- as well as to health fairs and food pantries, to serve the community through education about healthy, active living.
