David G. Vigil of Albuquerque

David G. Vigil, 55, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Friday, July 7, 2017 following a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Juan D. and Mary E. Vigil.

David was employed at Bob’s Fish and Chips during his early years while developing great friendships. He was a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan. He loved many things such as singing, dancing, cooking and most of all spending time with his family. Mr. Vigil is survived by his wife, Manuela Vigil; children, Victoria and Manuel Vigil and Enrique Hernandez and companion Yesenia; siblings, Orlando Vigil and wife Sara, Louie Vigil and wife Elsie, Steve Vigil and wife Cora, Phillip Vigil and wife Christine, Shirley Quintana, Bernadine Dominguez and Yvette DeVargas and husband Hilario; uncle, Carlos Vigil and wife Roselina; aunts, Eloisa Hanson and Gregoria Vigil and many other nieces, nephews and other relative and friends.

Public visitation will begin on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, with a rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo, with a burial to follow at the Nestera Señora de Dolores Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers, Manuel Vigil, Enrique Hernandez, Yvette and Larry DeVargas, Israel Luna, Elijah Vigil, Steven Vigil and Alex Monia. Honorary pallbearers, will be his granddaughters, Giuliana, Nayelli, and Valerie Vigil.

The family of David G. Vigil has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.

 


Manuel Sandoval of Cordova

Manuel Sandoval, 40, a resident of Cordova formerly of Los Angeles passed away on Wednesday, July 5, 2017.

Manuel was preceded in death by his father, Henry Cerda; padrino, Robert Sandoval; grandparents, Enrique and Estella Cerda, Damian and Frances Sandoval; father-in-law, Candido Romero; grandchildren, Mariah Penate, and Nathaniel Walker; sister, Raycheal; uncle, Rene and numerous relatives and friends.

Manuel was a kind, loving, and caring husband, father, brother and friend. He had a heart like no other and was always willing to help in any way he could. He would give the shirt off his back if he needed to. He had a unique personality that was hard to find. Family meant everything to him and if you weren’t family you were sure to become family to him.

Manuel is survived by his wife, Faith Sandoval; children, Keyana Martinez (Andrew), Renae, Manuel Jr., Kayla, Alyana, Mia, Sienna, Jazarae Sandoval and Layla Manzanares; mother, Betty Jean Sandoval; siblings, Isaac Saco (Celeste), Michael, Bobby, Gilbert, Richie, Kiki, David, Christina, Veronica, Valerie, Desiree, Angel, Sherrie, Adrian, Robert Jr. (Isabel), Faith (Jerome), Cordy (Brian), Fabian Romero (Kimber), Ceasar, and Nathan; aunts, Geraldine, Sandra, Lydia, Rosina, Benina, Olivama, Elaine, Debra, Sylvia, Hilda, Letty and Grace; uncles, Henry (Joyce), Zebedeo (Bertha), Pete (Nancy), Danny (Yvonne), Ruben and Jesus; nieces and nephews, Damian, Henry, Gilbert, Candi, Layla, Jameson, Connor Logan, Elijah, Ethan, Lexy, Shania and Bethany; Godchildren, Amada and Shane; in-laws: mother-in-law, Ida Romero; grandparents, Arsenio and Bernie Romero, Arolinda Martinez; aunts, Eileen, Bernice, Cindy (Alvaro); uncle, Victor, the Dominguez family and numerous other relatives and friends whom he loved dearly.

Services are pending at this time and will be posted as soon as they become available. The family asks that any donations are greatly appreciated and can be made at DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory.

Eric Brian Archuleta of Ranchitos

Eric Brian Archuleta, 38, a resident of Ranchitos, passed away on Tuesday, July 04, 2017. Eric was preceded in death by his grandparents, Vicente and Amada Garcia and Manuel Archuleta; uncles, Salomon and Elmer Garcia. He was born on May 06, 1979 in Los Alamos to Daniel and Gloria Archuleta.

Eric is survived by his daughter, Charlene Archuleta; parents, Daniel and Gloria Archuleta; brothers, Christopher and Annette Archuleta, Aaron and Elizabeth Archuleta; nieces, Ariana, Sophia and Olivia Archuleta, nephew, Jacob Archuleta, special aunt who was like his mother, Angie Garcia; grandmother, Evangelina Archuleta and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.

Public visitation was on Monday, July 10, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, with a Funeral which followed at 10:30 a.m. Burial was held at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Serving the family as pallbearers are Sam Garcia, Vincent Garcia, Daniel Garcia, Elmer Garcia, Pablo Lujan, and Jason Archuleta, honorary pallbearers, Orlando Rodriguez, Max Lucero and Julian Garcia. The family of Eric Brian Archuleta has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Espanola Valley.

 


Isaac Romelo Barela, Jr of Chimayo

Isaac Romelo Barela, Jr., a resident of Chimayo, unexpectedly went to be in the arms of the Lord on Sunday, July 2, 2017.  Isaac was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Mary Dolores Barela, paternal grandfather, Gilbert Barela; uncles, Dennis, Louie and Ricky Barela; maternal and aunt, Natalie Vasquez-Mirabal. 

Isaac loved spending time with his family, and will be greatly missed. 

Isaac is survived by his stepfather and mother Raymond and Dawn Romero, father, Isaac Barela; brothers, Isaiah Herrera and Kaleb Romero, sisters, Hannah Herrera, and Shayna Gomez; nephew Romeo Pacheco; maternal grandparents, Ennemias and Enselma Vasquez; uncles, Jeremiah, Nehemiah (Charlene), and Simon (Rachel) Vasquez, uncles, Lawrence, Felix (Michelle), Ted (Clarissa), aunts, Christine (Daniel), and Irene Barela and many other cousins, friends, and extended family. 

Public visitation was on Sunday, July 9, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a Devotional Service celebrated at 7:00 p.m. A rosary was recited on Monday, July 10, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo with Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Burial followed at the Chamisal Cemetery.

Serving the family as pallbearers are brother, Isaiah Herrera, uncle, Simon Vasquez, cousins, Dennis, Felix Jr., Gilbert and Elias Barela, honorary pallbearers, cousins, Peter Aguilar and Santiago Garcia.
