Heather R. Sandoval-Martinez of Cordova

Heather R. Sandoval-Martinez, age 27, a resident of Cordova, born on March 15, 1990 and passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 1, 2017.

She was a loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend whom her family loved dearly. Heather was a beautiful person, always had a beautiful smile. She will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her maternal side, great-grandparents, Israel and Cordilia Sandoval, David and Floudia Lopez; and grandparents, Onivas Sandoval and Ruby Lopez; great-uncles, Damian and Ruben Sandoval; her paternal side, great-grandparents, Octavio and Patrocinia Martinez and Carmelita Salazar and Frank Chavez; grandparents, Jose Rubel Martinez; tio, Tommy Martinez and tia, Rosie Lopez; y muchos otros tios Lopez, y otros primos y primas y familiares.

Heather is survived by her two loving children, Neveah Sandoval and Gilbert Onivas Moreno; mother, Charlotte Sandoval; father, Ronnie B. Martinez; companion, Gilbert Moreno; father of her daughter, Vicente Sandoval; loving grandmother whom Heather was close to and loved very much, Angie Martinez Chavez; grandfather, Manuel Villega; brothers, Ronnie Matthew Jr. and wife, Danica, Aaron Martinez and son Elijah Martinez, Justin Lopez; sisters, Angel Martinez and companion CJ Trujillo, Heaven Lopez; Nieces, Leah and Mariah Martinez: God-parents, Bobby and Corrine Mansfield; special loved uncle, Donald Serna; uncles and aunts, Israel and Lori Sandoval, Clara Sandoval and companion, Guillermo Terrazas, Linda and Ramon Granados; Marylou Martinez and Laurence Austin, Carol Anna Martinez, Joseph Pat and Denise Martinez; great-aunts, Rosina Trujillo, Benina Martinez, Olivama Sandoval, Elaine Sandoval; great-uncles, Zebedeo Sandoval and wife Bertha, Henry Sandoval and wife Joyce, Danny Sandoval-Tidwell and wife Yvonne, Pete Sandoval and wife Nancy; grandparents of her two loving children, Marlene and David Santianez and Martha and Gilbert Moreno; as well as other loving relatives and friends.

Services are pending and will be announced and posted as soon as they become available.

Serving as pallbearers will be, Linda Martinez Granados, Marylou Martinez, Donald Serna, CJ Trujillo, Israel Sandoval, Darren Martinez, Kayla Mansfield and Hilary Bustos. Honorary pallbearers will be all her loving family.

The family of Heather R. Sandoval-Martinez has entrusted the care of their beloved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home and Crematory of the Beautiful Española Valley.

 


Theodore "Ted" M. Martinez of Chamita

Theodore (Ted) M. Martinez, age 81, a lifelong resident of Chamita, passed away on Friday, June 2, 2017 at his home following a lengthy illness surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his son, Ted Martinez Jr.; parents, Miguel and Juanita Martinez; brothers, Tomas (Tom), Frank and Victor Martinez; sister, Rita; a close niece, Georgette Martinez; father and mother in law, Edwardo and Luisita Sanchez of Chamita; brothers in law, Tony and wife Georgia, Ben, Eddie Jr.

Ted is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Carmen Martinez of Chamita; daughter, Debbie and husband Daniel of Chamita; two grandchildren, Dominic, Denise and companion Benson Johnson; great-grandsons, Honovi Mateo and Noah Ayani; brother, Severo and Mary of Bernalillo, two sisters in laws, Cordelia Martinez of Velarde and Bertha Sanchez of Chamita, and rose and husband Ernesto Macarenas of Chamita; close nephews, David and Benjie Martinez; as well as by other close nieces, nephews, relatives and friends from Chimayo and Colorado.

Public visitation will begin on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Ohkay Owingeh, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. also at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, with a burial to follow at the San Pedro Catholic Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Ernest and Michael Mascareñas, Armando Atencio, Benson Johnson, Daniel and Benjie Martinez. Honorary pallbearers are Denise and Dominic Martinez, Honovi and Noah Johnson and Orlando Serna.

Bernie Elizida Gallegos of Hernandez

Bernie Elizida Gallegos, age 84, a resident of Hernandez went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 3, 2017 following a lengthy illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tobias and Martina Maestas; brother, Gusman Maestas; husband, Robert Gallegos; son, Jake; daughter, Maria; granddaughter, Melony Gallegos and B.B. Watson.

Bernie was a very spiritual, kind, humble and generous woman. She was a loving mother, grandmother, Godmother, aunt and friend. She was a hardworking woman all her life. She loved the outdoors, fishing with her husband, hauling wood and camping.

Bernie worked with the Hernandez Elementary School as a teacher’s aide. She was a member of the altar society at the San Jose Catholic Church in Hernandez. She carried her cross well. Bernie never complained about illness. She adored her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, Godchildren, nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her son, Robert Jr. and wife Linda, grandchildren, Arianna, Grace, Elizabeth, and Darla; great-grandchildren, Andy, Caleb, Josiah, Tommy, Marcus, Josiah, Damian, Isaiah, Jalene and Jeda; brother, Arsenio Maestas and family; brother in law, Phil and Virginia Gallegos and Mike and Barbara Gallegos; compadres, Leo and Lucille Maestas; close cousin Ida and Margarito War; and other loving relatives and friends.

The family would like to thank Amber Care Hospice for the great service provided, especially Hisan and Ashley.

Public visitation will begin on Monday, June 5, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. at San Jose Catholic Church in Hernandez, with a rosary to be recited on 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. also at the San Jose Catholic Church in Hernandez, with a burial to follow at the San Jose Catholic Cemetery.

Assisting as pallbearers will be Andy, Caleb, Josiah, Noel, Archie, and Isaiah, Honorary pallbearers are Tommy, Marcus, Damian, Josiah, Andres, Jerry and Tito.
