Luján To Attend Dedication Ceremony Of Ben Luján Memorial Highway 84/285 Sunday

SANTA FE – Rep. Ben Ray Luján of New Mexico’s Third District will attend a ceremony at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 12 on Gunbarrel Road in Española, dedicating U.S. Highway 84/285 as the “Ben Luján Memorial Highway.” 

Ben Luján served in public office for more than 40 years, including 38 years as State Representative from District 46 in Santa Fe County and 12 years as Speaker of the House of Representatives. 

In honor of his distinguished service on behalf of the people of New Mexico, the highway is being named in his honor at the unanimous request of the New Mexico Legislature and with the concurrence of the State Transportation Commission. The joint memorial was sponsored by State Sen. Carlos Cisneros and carried in the House by State Rep. Debbie Rodella.
