Habitat Kicks Off 2017 Build

With lots of help from Wells Fargo Bank employees, Habitat for Humanity kicked off the 2017 Build and is hard at work building this year’s single family affordable house in Espanola. The plumbing is roughed in, the exterior walls are framed and sheathed, the roof trusses are just about ready to be raised. The 2017 Build is a three bedroom, 1 ½ bath house located on Camino Habitat off Highway 30 (Los Alamos Highway) on the outskirts of Espanola. Construction on the house will continue on most Saturdays until completion by Thanksgiving.

Volunteers are needed in the Habitat ReStore and thrift store weekdays and Saturdays. Volunteers are also welcome at the construction site on most Saturdays.

In honor of Father’s Day, Habitat will hold a special Father-Son Build on Saturday 17 June beginning at 9 A.M. Fathers/men and sons/boys over age 14 are welcome to help build the house. Come help celebrate the work men do.

Habitat ReStore, thrift store and furniture store are located at 726 North Riverside Drive in Espanola. All stores are open summer hours 9 AM – 6 PM Monday-Saturday until 1 September. Tax deductible donations of funds and goods are gratefully received.
