Guadalupe Credit Union Opens Its Doors

Guadalupe Credit Union held a ribbon cutting ceremony Wednesday, Feb. 3 to officially opened its doors in Espanola. The Espanola branch, located at 460 G N. Riverside Drive is the fifth location for Guadalupe Credit Union, three in Santa Fe, one in Taos and now one in Espanola.

Local business owners and Mayor Pro-Tem Pedro Valdez attended the ribbon cutting event, along with representatives from Zia Credit Union and Century Bank. The new GCU location is the site of the old Century Bank, prior to their purchase of Valley National Bank.

After the ribbon cutting Guadalupe Credit Union CEO Winona Nava explained that GCU focuses on providing affordable financial services and loans to members, as well as offering financial training and literacy courses for the community.

The celebrations will continue Saturday, Feb. 6 with a Fiesta grand opening celebration from 11 a.m. till 1 p.m. Adena Whitma with GCU said there will be music, food and giveaways.
