EVHS Given “All-Clear”: Classes To Resume Thursday

Staff Report

As previously reported HERE the Española Valley High School was closed Wednesday, Oct. 7 due to a threat made on social media sites.

Española Superintendent of Schools, Bobbie Gutierrez confirmed late Wednesday that Española City Police completed their investigation and gave an “all-clear.” Superintendent Gutierrez announced at a school board meeting Wednesday night that classes at EVHS would resume as normal Thursday.

“At the current time it appears that the threats were vicious rumors stemming from a bullying incident between two students at another school.  Tomorrow, classes will resume as normal.  We apologize for this inconvenience and look forward to continuing the school year without further disruption to the educational process,” stated Mrs. Gutierrez earlier this evening.

As previously reported the individual responsible for the threats is a juvenile who attends high school at McCurdy Charter School.
