Rep. Debbie Rodella & Legislators Move To Open Funding For Value Added Agriculture

HB 289 Supports Entrepreneurial Endeavors that Add Value to Agricultural Products 

Santa Fe – House Bill 289 the Agriculture in Economic Development Finance Act passed unanimously through the House Business and Industry Committee. The bill, sponsored by Representatives Debbie Rodella (D-Española), Nathan Small (D-Las Cruces), Candie Sweetser (D-Deming) and Bill Gomez (D-Las Cruces) opens the statewide Economic Development Department funding to value-added agriculture. The bill originated from numerous meetings with constituents during the House Democrats’ Jobs Listening Tour before the legislative session.

2017 Española Fiesta Court Named

The 2017 La Fiesta Del Valle de Española Royalty Competition was held Friday evening at the Nick Salazar Center for the Arts on the campus of Northern New Mexico College. The four candidates for La Reina and candidate for Don Juan de Onate y Salazar presented themselves to the five judges and an audience of over 50 people.

The 2016 La Reina, Adriana Martinez spoke to all candidates about her year of service as La Reina and applauded all who stepped forward to serve.
