Española Community Matanza Today

Today, the Española Fiesta Council is hosting the first ever, "Española Community Matanza" on the Plaza de Española between 1 and 8 p.m.  Dozens of people arrived as the party began and a line of people stretched around the plaza to get plates of freshly fried chicharrones. Stop on by to enjoy great food and see great entertainment. The matanza runs till 8:00 p.m. and the community is invited to participate in several free attractions, including lowrider show, local booths, jumping balloons and musical performances...

With an American Flag of enormous dimensions proudly waving in the wind, the community of Española honored its veterans of the armed forces in a Memorial Day ceremony May 29 at the Veterans Memorial across from the Plaza de Española.
