Candidates Provide Free Community Holiday Meal

Española – Sennie & Edward Quintana, Robert J. Seeds for Mayor & Team Move Española Forward will be hosting a free holiday meal for the community on Monday, Dec. 11, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Big Dawg’s Café located at 107 North Riverside Drive in Espanola, NM. 

“We wanted to host this dinner to build community outreach and get ready for the spirit of the Christmas season in our beautiful Valley,” Seeds said.  “Christmas is about the season of giving and being supportive of our friends and neighbors,” said Sennie Quintana, owner of Big Dawg’s Cafe.

Robert J. Seeds, a candidate for Mayor of Española, has served non-consecutively on the Española City Council since 1984. He currently represents the citizens of District 4 (Fairview) on the city council.

JR Trujillo, a candidate for Española City Council District 1, is a former city councilor who served from 2002-2006. Trujillo is also a longtime local business owner and member of the city’s Planning and Zoning Commission.  

John Ramon Vigil, a candidate for Española City Council District 2, is a longtime volunteer on the Española Fiesta Council, member of the MainStreet Board, and former member of the Española Public Library Board. Vigil is currently serving a term on the Board of Regents for New Mexico Highlands University.

Anthony Vander Vossen, candidate for Española City Council District 4, is a former city councilor who served from 2002-2006. Vander Vossen is a longtime local business owner and community volunteer.

Team Move Española Forward is focusing on three cornerstones for their campaign: Experience, Leadership, and Compassion. They have a common vision to provide enhanced support for public safety, a vision for economic development, and a plan on building partnerships with the Counties of Rio Arriba and Santa Fe, Santa Clara Pueblo, Ohkay Owingeh, the Española Public School District, Northern New Mexico College, among many others.
