Local Teams Advance: Espanola, Pojoaque and Escalante Move Up

Three of our local boys teams and one of the girls teams has gotten off to a great start in the 2015 NMAA State Basketball Championship.

Boys  Championship Basketball

Up in Escelante, the 2A no. 2 seed Escalante Lobos moves on to the quarterfinals where they will face off against Dora/Elida Coyotes at Bernalillo High School Gym on 3/11/15 at 8:15 P.M.

Down in Pojoaque, the 4A no. 6 seed Pojoaque Elks  advances to meet the no. 3 seed Taos Tigers on Wednesday 03/11/15 at 4:45 P.M. for the quarterfinals at the SASC.

Former Police Detective Charged: Taking City Ammo

Recently resigned City of Española detective, Cpl. Solomon Romero was charged in February by the District Attorney’s office with embezzlement for alleged activities around the improper disposal and personal use of firearms and ammunition. District Attorney Angela “Spence” Pacheco’s office charges Romero with converting ammunition valued at $412 to his own use.
