2017 Rocketry Camp

The first annual Rocketry Camp will take place June 26-30 to teach STEM skills to local youth in a fun and free setting.

"You will hear the acronym STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) a lot whenever the discussion turns to improving education in the United States, and there is a good reason. Those disciplines are the cornerstones of the jobs that will keep America competitive in the near and distant future, and we have to get our students ready for that future now" (Tucker, 2017). Therefore, the camp sponsor organizations want to expose students to STEM activities through fun and engaging activities. Summer rocketry camp is designed to be engaging, enriching, and exciting, but space is limited so people are urged to register soon.

The Rocketry Camp will take place from June 26 to 30 at the Espanola YMCA Teen Center, located at 808 Vietnam Veterans Memorial Park Road.
The camp is divided into two age categories with youth ages 8 to 11 meeting from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily. Youth ages 12 to 16 will meet from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
